Privacy Policy

Linglow ("we", "our", "us") is a language learning app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

  • Name & email — at sign-up, for authentication and recovery.
  • Internal user ID — to link your data across features.
  • Purchase history — from Apple/Google via RevenueCat, to manage your subscription.
  • The pages you visit in the app & the buttons you press — all in-app, never via screenshots or screen recordings. Via PostHog, in aggregate.
  • Crash reports & performance — via Sentry, to fix bugs.
  • Push notification token — via Expo, for lesson reminders (opt-in).

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Location data (precise or coarse)
  • Contacts, photos, or microphone access
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID)
  • Health, financial, or biometric data
  • Browsing or search history

3. No Cross-App Tracking

We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles. Product analytics are limited to understanding how the app and website are used, processed by our privacy-focused, EU-hosted analytics provider (see Third-Party Services). We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties for advertising.

4. AI-Generated Content

Linglow uses AI to generate translations, pronunciation guides, grammar analysis, and text-to-speech audio. This content is pre-processed and reviewed — it is not generated in real-time from your personal data. No personal information is sent to AI models.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Better Auth — authentication and account management
  • RevenueCat — subscription management (payment is processed entirely by Apple/Google)
  • PostHog — product analytics (EU-hosted)
  • Sentry — crash reporting and performance monitoring
  • Expo — push notification delivery

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Crash logs and analytics are purged after 90 days. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings

8. Children's Privacy

Linglow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
